Time Travel, AI, and a Very Delayed White Night
She’d seen a postcard I created for the Gan HaTikva Community Center and asked if I “mess around with AI” - because she was planning the White Night celebrations marking 90 years since the neighborhood’s founding. The brief: create four videos using different techniques and three posters - all around the theme of time travel. Danielle’s talented team came up with the concepts, and I brought them to life.
Creative Workflow
Midway through production, another war broke out. The project was paused, canceled, revived, and paused again. Danielle gave birth to a beautiful baby (mazal tov!), and what was meant to launch in June finally took place at the end of August. It was chaotic, emotional, and completely worth it.
Kids & Youth – restored and animated rare archival photos into a single cohesive short film
Past > Present > Future – a visual journey showing the neighborhood market “then, now, and maybe someday,” stitched together with wild transitions
Pregnant Hasake (Neighborhood Tales) – a surreal visualization of a local urban legend, illustrated in vectors and animated with AI over an archival image
Street Hangout (Neighborhood Tales) – a visual interpretation of a resident’s quote, Sara Milio
3 Posters – initial imagery generated through AI with detailed references, then refined and finished in Adobe tools.
